All you are to do is to switch his new disc on, relax, close your eyes and you have immediately been carried away there. The hazy mountains are covered with a thick carpet of dark blue wood. Distant waterfalls are pouring down their transparent pure waters. Blossoms of splendiferous flowers are exhaling their heady fragrance. This land is so beautiful, you can dip into its night coolness and experience unutterable bliss while getting in touch with Mother Earth.

Nicholas Gunn who became famous for his albums " The Music of the Grand Canyon" and " Return to the Grand Canyon" brilliantly proceeds with his series of " The National Parks" music. " Through The Great Smoky Mountains" disc bears a strong resemblance to Nicholas' previous projects: perfect compositions from the melodic point of view, a very expressive flute and a rhythmic percussion in setting of electronic key instruments, tender sounds of acoustic guitar and miscellaneous noises of nature, universality of music and American Indian colouring, impetuous infatuation and sincerity of emotions which touches the deep of the heart. Gunn is always the same and concurrently a bit different. More tenderness and heartiness appeared in his music. As for the purity of emotions and love with which Nicholas Gunn's music is imbued, his new album keeps aloof from all his works. One listens to this music without taking a breath. It is rather complicated to discern some composition, whatever it may be a refined hit " Call of the Wind" , slow and sensual " Azaela Sunrise" , extremely nostalgic " Trail of Tears" or majestic and energetic " Passage Through Ancient Relics" .

The feminity and acceptance are felt in Nicholas Gunn's music. And at the same time Nicholas Gunn's music is very lovely, full of action and creation. These are emotional experiences of a male who is not afraid to bear responsibility. The musician urges to conserve the beauty of the unexplored wilderness. It is not by chance that 10 per cent of profits realized from the sale of every disc will be transferred to the National Park " The Great Smoky Mountains" in order to conserve the nature and help to keep it for descendants.
